Program feed and ISO recording
The difference between the live cut and every camera recorded on its own, and when you need both.
Every multicam production can produce two kinds of recording, and each serves a different purpose.
The program
The program is the live cut the director makes on the switcher: what the audience sees on the venue screens, on air or in the stream. It can be recorded while it is being sent to every output.
ISO recordings
ISO stands for isolated: each camera is recorded on its own, without cuts. With ISO recordings an editor can rebuild the show afterwards, change angles, fix a missed moment or cut short clips.
When you need ISO
- The event will be edited for a repeat broadcast or an on-demand release
- You need documentation or highlights after the event
- Content will be cut for social media in different formats
The number of recorders and the storage required follow from the number of cameras and the length of the event, and are set in the proposal.
In the NBS system
Recording runs on AJA Ki Pro Ultra 12G recorders. The format and how the recordings are handed over are agreed in the proposal.
